Elaia Blades (Donostia, Basque Country. Spain)

From experimental filmmaking and counterculture, she develops a transdisciplinary artistic practice based on video art, sound, and lenticular mixed media. With the latter, explores movement encapsulated in static images, the tension between motion and stillness, as well as the confrontation between technology and tradition. Her early influences, related to ceremonial structures, mythology, and occultism, evolved towards topics such as conspiracy theories, post-Internet culture, censorship, and iconoclasm. Through symbolic and archetypal references, especially mythological ones, she addresses contemporary social issues and notions of gender, questioning normative paradigms and proposing interpretations of identity, power, and body.
